Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how MarioApps, LLC(“we,” “us”), the operator of Tokei.ID (watch-identifier.com), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and watch-identification service.
We try to keep this short and in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@watch-identifier.com.
1. What we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and Google profile picture from Firebase Authentication. We do not receive your Google password.
Photos you upload
When you scan a watch, the image you upload is sent to our backend and to the AI provider that identifies it (see “Third parties” below). If you sign in and have auto-save enabled, we store the image in Vercel Blob, linked to your account, so you can revisit identifications from your Vault.
Identification results
Brand, model, reference number, value estimates, and other details returned by the AI are stored against your user document in Firestore when you save them to your Vault.
Usage and billing
We store a count of how many scans you've made (to enforce free-tier limits), and — if you subscribe — your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and entitlement state via RevenueCat.
Technical data
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps), error reports, and aggregate analytics via Vercel Analytics. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
2. How we use it
- To identify watches in the photos you submit.
- To keep your Vault and labels available across sessions.
- To enforce the free-tier scan and vault limits.
- To process Pro subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- To diagnose bugs and improve the product.
- To send essential service emails (e.g. receipts, account notices).
We do not sell your data and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
3. Third parties (sub-processors)
We rely on the following services to run Tokei.ID:
- OpenAI— processes your scan photo to identify the watch. Photos are sent over an authenticated, encrypted connection. Per OpenAI's API policy, API content is not used to train models.
- Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, App Check) — handles sign-in, stores your account and Vault data, and protects our API from abuse.
- Vercel — hosts the website, runs server functions, and stores uploaded scan photos via Vercel Blob.
- Stripe — processes Pro subscription payments. We do not see or store your card number.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription entitlements and links purchases to your user account.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and data-protection posture. We choose vendors with strong security practices.
4. Your rights
You can:
- Sign in and view all data we hold about you in the app.
- Delete individual identifications from your Vault.
- Delete your entire account, including all Vault entries and stored photos, from Profile → Delete account. This is immediate and irreversible.
- Request a copy of your data, or correction of any inaccuracy, by emailing support@watch-identifier.com.
If you are in the EEA, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, object), you may exercise those rights by writing to us.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all associated Vault entries, stored photos, labels, and entitlement state are removed. Backups may retain copies for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
6. International transfers
Our infrastructure providers operate globally. By using Tokei.ID you acknowledge that your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.
7. Children
Tokei.ID is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local-storage entries to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (theme, currency, etc.). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Effective” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
